Degree Requirements
1. Student is required to complete five core courses from Table 1, two elective courses from Table 2, and academic activities (ten times of attendance) from Table 4 during the first 2 semesters to gain 22 credits. 2. Student can only submit his/her dissertation title for confirmation upon the completion of the aforementioned 22 credits under Table 1, 2 and 4. The minimum word count for the dissertation is 100,000. The overall process should follow the dissertation composition flow established by the faculty. 3. After finishing each course, the student will be assessed based on regulations established by the instructor and the Faculty. 4. Student who completes all the required courses, students can start writing the thesis proposal. Students can continue their dissertation research and writing upon completion of thesis proposal defense. 5. Student is required to publish at least one first-level academic work, OR at least two second-level academic works. The works will be evaluated and approved by the Faculty of Humanities and Art at Macau University of Science and Technology. Learning Time
The course takes 12 months, and the thesis writing time is usually 12 months, with a maximum of 24 months. Classes are usually scheduled for Monday to Friday during the day, at night or on weekends.
Qualifications of Graduation
A doctoral degree shall be awarded to a student who meets the following requirements and is approved by the Academic and Teaching Committee of the University: 1. Complete and pass the requirements of the study plan during the study period of the course, and the cumulative average points of the scores of all subjects (excluding the academic thesis scores) shall not be less than 2.50*; 2. Abide by the rules of the University; 3. Pay specified fees and return borrowed University property.
